Math/Science Teacher

Job Summary
Scattergood Friends School and Farm seeks an energetic Math and Science teacher interested in progressive education. The position starts in August 2021.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach Calculus, Pre-Calculus, Physics, and one other math/science class.
- Plan and deliver instruction, as well as measure and report progress to facilitate student development.
- Develop curriculum that stimulates student curiosity, and helps them get excited about math and science.
- Teachers are expected to have frequent communication with students and school staff in ways that nurture a healthy learning experience for students.
Other Duties
- Attend regular meetings, including Morning Collection, Staff Meeting, Community Meeting, and Meeting for Worship.
- Serve as a Crew Leader
- Model the values of Scattergood Friends School
- All full-time teachers also assume additional duties to contribute to the community including leading crew and trips, general supervision, and/or teaching elective courses.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelors or higher degree in a related field.
- Secondary Teaching experience (preferred)
- Qualified teaching candidates should have a thorough understanding of inquiry-based or project-based learning.
- Proficiency with Google Suite.
