Middle School / High School Art Teacher
Putnam County High School is currently seeking applicants to fill a teaching vacancy in our High School Language Arts Department for the 2021-2022 school year in the areas of Language Arts I, Language Arts III, and Drama which includes the Junior-Senior Play. Qualified candidates will be responsible for planning lessons, carrying out effective instruction, evaluating student progress, and maintaining classroom management to ensure student engagement and learning. Putnam County R-I is a rural district with approximately 194 students in grades 9-12. We are located just south of the Iowa border at the junction of State Highways 5 and 136. Our community is fortunate to have some beautiful scenery whether you choose to live in the country, or at our prestigious Lake Thunderhead. Putnam County has outstanding community support, and it shows in our excellent facilities. PCR-I students are one-to-one with Chromebooks grades 2-12 and all teachers use Google Suite in their classrooms. Coaching and or sponsorship opportunities are available at our distinct including but not limited to Varsity Softball, Junior Varsity Softball, Junior High Softball, Junior High Basketball, Varsity Cheerleading, Junior Varsity Cheerleading, and Varsity Boys Golf.
The successful candidate should hold a valid Missouri teacher’s certificate in 9-12 English and 9-12 Speech/Theatre. The start date for this position is early August 2021. Our 2020-21 base teacher salary was $33,000 with the possibility of a base increase for the 2021-2022 school year.
