Payroll Specialist

Position Summary:
Support payroll activities for Company employees.
 
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Calculate, verify and input employee pay information on a biweekly basis.
  • Calculate and input retroactive pay increases.
  • Generate payroll deductions and time register reports.
  • File payroll documentation into individual employee files as appropriate.
  • Assists with payroll taxes, account reconciliations, intercompany entries and suspense clearings, stop pays, new hire, wage adjustments, and termination activity
  • Responds to inquiries regarding timekeeping, paychecks and payroll taxes in a timely basis. Assist in year-end payroll duties
  • Liaison with payroll software provider
  • Provide assistance and issue resolution in reconciling payroll expense and balance sheet issues.
  • Generates and analyzes reports for Finance/Accounting on bi-weekly reports and monthly basis.
  • Audit all payroll processes for efficiency.
  • Train in all aspects of the payroll process and serve as backup.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
 
Required Education And Experience:
Possess an Associate's degree in a related field and 5 or more years recent experience in billing, invoicing, accounts receivable, or payroll — preferably with Sage FIRMS experience. Ability to produce transactional reports and summary reports as well as analyze them. Must be advanced in Microsoft Excel and proficient in other Microsoft Office applications and have strong typing/data entry skills. Strong organizational, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills. Attention to detail, accuracy with numbers and efficiency in completing multiple-tasks. Proven record of working to tight deadlines while maintaining high level of accuracy in a high-volume processing and fast paced environment.
