District Administrator

The Heron Lake Watershed District is accepting applications to fill the position of FULLTIME
ADMINISTRATOR. The District Administrator serves as the chief administrative officer. They must apply independent judgment regarding HLWD activities and dispensing of information based on knowledge gained through experience and direction from the HLWD Board. The Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the District which includes (but is not limited to): implementing the accounting/payroll system; compiling background information for the Board to facilitate decision making; preparing agendas, data, correspondence, and other materials relating to Board meetings; attending Board meetings and taking/distributing Minutes; acts as the designated data practices Responsible Authority. The position requires a self-motivated person who will receive some instruction from the Board, but who will perform the majority of tasks with little or no supervision, has the capacity to work with flexibility on several tasks simultaneously, can proficiently meet various concurrent deadlines, and has the ability to work under stressful conditions. 

Minimum requirements include: high school diploma or
equivalent; Associate’s degree in relevant field OR related experience, OR a
combination of education and relevant experience; basic computer skills; and, a valid
driver’s license.

The hiring range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00 per hour,
dependent on experience and qualifications. The position is full-time, non-exempt.
