CommUnity Crisis Services and Food Bank is seeking a Development Intern to join its Communications & Development Department. The Development Intern is responsible for supporting the Communications & Development Department’s administrative efforts by:
  • Assisting in the development, implementation, and execution of the Agency’s donor cultivation and stewardship plans
  • Elevating pre-established theme month fundraisers and drives 
  • Assisting with virtual and in-person special events
  • Additional administrative assistance as needed
The Intern shall have a basic understanding of fundraising best practices and ethics; the ability to learn a complex database system; and excellent verbal and written communication skills. The Intern must possess a high degree of self-motivation and be passionate about the programs and services of CommUnity. This position will work as part of the Communications & Development and administrative teams and reports to the Development Manager. This is an unpaid internship with a flexible 10-15 hour/week schedule.
 
Desired Education and Experience:
Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution, working on an associate’s, bachelor’s or graduate degree, and display a commitment to nonprofit development and social services. Experience in event planning, writing, donor stewardship, or volunteer work preferred but not required.
