Software Engineer – Real Time Control – Power Systems

In this position you will be responsible for developing applications that monitor and control the electric grid for safe, reliable and economic operations. All of this is done using the latest technologies in a fast-paced, collaborative environment at a forward looking company.
Requirements
Minimum
· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering with Power Systems Emphasis, Computer Science or related technical field.
· C development experience
· Familiar with platform independent tools and libraries.
· Analysis Tools experience: ANT, CUnit, JUnit, FxCop and/or PREfast.
· Source Version Control experience: CVS, Git and/or Subversion.
· Experience on multiple platforms and cross-platform development.
Power Systems
· Knowledge of electric utility operation, control and/or optimization
Real Time Controls
· Networking knowledge and protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, XMPP, HTTP, MSRP, XCAP, SOAP, DNP, etc.).
Preferred
· Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering with Power Systems Emphasis, Computer Science or related technical field
· Experience in one or more of the following C#, C++, Java, Python, etc
· Experience in Electric, Gas or Water SCADA applications.
Power Systems
· 3-5 years of experience in power systems engineering and/or software development focused on generation, transmission, distribution and/or outage management
Real Time Controls
· 3-5 years of experience working with mathematical models, control algorithms and/or software development.
