Internship - Gems and Minerals Collection - Fall 2021 | Perot Museum of Nature and Science

The Gems and Minerals department at the Perot Museum aims to elevate interest and understanding of gems and minerals. An intern is needed to prepare for an incoming temporary exhibit in the Lyda Hill Gems and Minerals Hall, continue organizing the permanent gems and minerals collection, and assist with creating content for our social media account. The intern’s schedule would be a 4 hour shift 1 day a week. Applicants should be entering their junior or senior year of college and completion of some course work related to mineralogy and/or geology is preferred. Supervisors during the internship will be the Gems and Minerals Director. The selected intern will gain insider knowledge of curatorial work specific to creating exhibits, handling mineral specimens, and collaborating with other museum departments.
