Elementary Teacher, Title 1 Math

Responsibilities:
  • Holds caseload of all Title I students
  • Pulls out or assists students in the classroom with supplementary instruction beyond the classroom instruction.
  • Pre-teachers or re-teaches vocabulary words or math concepts to be covered.
  • Evaluates the progress of all Title I students and designs and prepares student progress reports.
  • Prescribes the lessons that the students will work on during Title I time.
  • Performs all student selection requirements including testing and making the final lists of students selected for Title I participation.
  • Schedules the parent meeting, writes up the parent survey, and finds parent-training tools.
  • Schedules the annual review meeting, coordinates the meeting, and communicates with parents regarding its results.
  • Communicates regularly with classroom teachers regarding classroom instruction and needs of the Title I students. Title I teachers should keep written documentation of this communication.
  • Develops Title I lesson plans.
  • Serves as a resource person within their Title I building.
  • Keep abreast of current best practice in reading/math instruction.
  • Participate in all mandatory training or training appropriate to the position as required by the district.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education
  • ND Teaching License
  • Teacher must be highly qualified according to No Child Left Behind and hold a reading/math certificate
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two to five years teaching experience
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations
