If you are an undergraduate or graduate student, DTE Energy offers hands-on, real work experiences to enrich your academics and prepare you for a possible career in energy. We provide different types of student roles depending on academic interests and business needs. Opportunities include co-ops for both undergraduate and graduate students, summer internships for plant/field and professional roles, plus three programs for students pursuing an advanced degree or a master’s degree in business administration.

Examples of hands-on experiences during your assignment with DTE include:
- Collect data and provide support in the preparation of financial reports. The use of Excel: Worksheets, Pivot Tables, and formulas are needed.
- Create project cost sheets detailing monthly forecasts for capital projects. Support the month-end close UBL process.
- Pulls financial data from SAP and updates power BI dashboards on a weekly basis for use by BU partners for decision making. Prepare month-end financial reports for use by Financial Analysts and Business Unit.
- Prepare refueling outage daily cost tracking reports and creating standard work instructions.
- Prepare monthly off system and receipt point customer invoicing, prepare monthly supple pages, and scan journals. Complete assigned monthly account reconciliations in AssureNet.
