Marketing & Administrative Intern

The Midwest Association of Christian Counselors is looking for a few interns to assist our executive director in growing the organization and fulfilling our mission.
We’re looking for driven, ambitious, self motivated individuals who want to create a career in social media, web development, content marketing, graphic design, database management, event planning, or perhaps a future counselor looking to support the organization and expand their resume. We are seeking a team with varied backgrounds so please apply even if you are not interested in all of these areas! We’re offering a flexible schedule with the possibility of working remotely if you wish to pursue other opportunities simultaneously. This position would likely require 10-20 hours per month. The executive director would provide guidance and support, as well as the opportunity to gain valuable work experience in the industry. This is an unpaid internship, but could lead to a paid position in the future for the right person.
Responsibilities (may be some of the following depending on interns area of interest)
  • Assist with content creation for all of our social media accounts (twitter, fb, instagram, and linked in).
  • Respond to membership emails related to professional development, website questions, referral requests, etc.
  • Take meeting minutes at MACC board meetings (monthly third Friday of each month from 9-11am via zoom)
  • Participate in MACC board committees if desired based on areas of interest
  • Assist Executive Director in posting website updates, and maintaining the calendar of events.
  • Assist with event coordination such as networking events, professional trainings, and the annual conference.
  • Assist executive director with strategic growth plans and other needs for the organization
Qualifications and skills
  • Familiarity with social media strategies and platforms
  • Ability to multi-task and take initiative
  • Hardworking and results driven
  • Ability to take direction and absorb information quickly, as well as work independently and follow through until projects are completed.
  • Experience with content creation a plus, even if not in mental health field
