Machine Operator
Position Responsibilities
- Run multiple plastic extrusion molding machines
- Perform operator level preventative maintenance tasks
- Ensure quality at the source by reading and understanding job instructions and operator control plan items for each and every job assigned
- Perform all required quality inspections, records all required results, and identifies and escalates any issues
- Change-over dies as directed by the production schedule
- Verify correct supplies are at the machine per job specifications
- Identify and actively participates in Continuous Improvement activities
- Ensure resin and colorant mixing is done properly.
- Palletize, packages and labels parts for shipment to customer
- Maintain clean workstation
- Complete timely and accurate production reporting
- Must maintain good attendance and follow all policies per the company’s handbook
- Identify hazards and ensure a safe workplace
- Actively participate in safety training and activities
Qualities for Success
- High school diploma/GED
- Basic math skills including understanding of measurement methods/tools and pass/fail criteria
- Basic English reading ability and comprehension to understand written instructions
- Ability to visually inspect parts for common defects
- Able to lift 55 lbs. up to shoulder height daily on an on-going basis without assistance
- Able to lift 55 lbs. above head occasionally
- Push, pull, bend, twist, and stoop on an on-going basis
- Use miscellaneous hand tools including manual, pneumatic, and powered
- Able to communicate clearly with all shifts and coworkers to ensure all safety, quality, and production standards are met.
