Junior Accountant

Position Summary:
The Junior Accountant will work in a team environment assisting the Controller with the day-to-day accounting functions for three privately-held companies: East View Information Services, East View Geospatial, and East View Map Link. The position is responsible for a variety of professional and support functions, with the primary focus on bookkeeping/ accounting tasks, to include General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) knowledge. The candidate must be a self-starter with an analytical mindset, proven communication skills, accuracy, and the ability to organize and prioritize workload to ensure deadlines are met. 

Responsibilities:
·       Perform Accounts Payable tasks such as
o  Enter bills
o  Create checks
o  Set up wire transfers
·       Perform Accounts Receivable tasks such as
o  Contact customers regarding past due accounts
o  Apply payments in NetSuite
·       Process employee expense reimbursements for Purchasing card and non-P-card holders
·       Complete monthly bank account reconciliations
·       Generate quarterly commission reports for all operating companies
·       Support month-end and year-end close
o  Reconcile balance sheet accounts
o  Prepare and record journal entries, including preparation of supporting documentation
o  Other various reports such as Aging, Sales, Depreciation
·       Generate ad hoc analytical reports as needed
 
Knowledge, Skills/Abilities:
·       Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance obtained within the United States
·       0–2 years of bookkeeping experience required
·       Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
·       Knowledge of financial reports such as balance sheets and P&Ls
·       Knowledge and use of accounting software (Oracle NetSuite a plus)
·       Highly skilled in MS excel to create V-look ups and pivot tables
·       Accuracy, drive, flexibility, collaboration, and attention to detail are all required competencies.
·       Must be highly skilled in time management with ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks
·       Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
 
Workplace Details
·       This is an onsite position located in Minnetonka MN near Hopkins Crossroads/Hwy 394
·       The work schedule is Monday-Friday from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm with some flexibility to work remotely depending upon the cyclical demands of the workload
