Interventional Radiology Technologist Intern

  • Interns will conduct themselves in a respectful manner; assuming the clinical responsibility and critical thinking required of a Registered Radiology Technologist and outlined in the ARRT Standard of Ethics.
  • Interns will complete 12 months of required training consisting of the following elements:
  • Complete assigned clinical rotations with the support of technologist preceptors.
  • Attend all scheduled didactic lectures and demonstrate learned knowledge through assessment.
  • Apply learned knowledge and critical thinking skills to support technologist colleagues in the care of patients.
  • Meet quarterly clinical competency goals as outlined by the internship.
  • Take call as assigned with the support of a technologist preceptor.
  • Support patient care through all other assigned duties.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited JRC program in Radiography required.
  • Associate's Degree in Radiography preferred.
  • Experience: No experience required
  • Licensure: Registered Radiologic Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R.T.) required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
The end goal of this internship is for the candidate to move into a full time position with UVA.
