Post-Doctoral Research Fellow - Cohn Lab

Responsibilities

The Cohn lab, within the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Division at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow to work on a project involving clonal expansion of HIV infected T cells.
 
The candidate will use techniques such as flow cytometry, PCR, qPCR, genomics, and next-generation sequencing to investigate mechanisms of HIV persistence in vivo. Importantly, the candidate must be organized, self-motivated, and able to efficiently manage their time and experiments.


Qualifications

  • PhD in Immunology, Virology, Cell Biology, or a related field
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience with flow cytometry, T cell biology, or strong molecular biology skills
  • Candidate must be comfortable working with BSL2+ pathogens from valuable and rare clinical samples
  • Show independent initiative to learn new techniques
  • Excited to mentor less experienced scientists
  • Success in this role is dependent on attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and exceptional organizational and communication skills
