Post-Doctoral Research Fellow - Simon Lab

This position is in a laboratory in the Clinical Research Division and Human Biology Division that is developing new biologically active compounds as drugs and probes of pathways important to cancer and other diseases. The research effort involves interdisciplinary techniques ranging from cell and molecular biology to pharmacology to chemistry but requires experimental expertise in cell biology.


Responsibilities

  • Play a major role in projects testing investigational compounds using in vitro and in vivo models.
  • Design, execute and interpret experiments in cellular and molecular biology.
  • Lead a leading drug evaluation project and assist other members of the lab as needed to carry out a drug evaluation project and assist other members of the lab as needed.
  • help with preparation of figures for publication and writing and editing of manuscripts.


Qualifications

  • A doctoral degree in molecular or cellular biology is required
  • Expertise in tissue culture, molecular biology techniques including cloning, transfection/transduction and lentiviral production is required.
  • Skills in mammalian cell culture and cell biology and/or pharmacology are desirable
  • Computer skills (Mac, PC) are also highly desirable
  • You must be able to work in a team environment with a significant degree of independence
