Payroll Specialist
Job Title: Payroll Specialist (Clerk)
Job Summary
This position processes payroll transactions for hourly employees and is responsible for multiple clerical functions throughout the facility including setting up fuel cards, processing employee cement purchase discounts, new hire payroll orientation, and the interpretation of the labor agreement as it applies to pay practices.
Responsibilities
- Track time worked for hourly employees
- Collect daily foreman timesheets and manually enter to SAP
- Track employee vacation quota balances
- Resolve payroll discrepancies
- Process employee Master Data changes, new hires, terminations, etc. in SAP
- Process leave of absence payroll calculations
- Assign employee vendor numbers for expense requisitions
- Complete Verifications of Employment requests
- Additional duties as required
Education
Associate degree or higher; college coursework in Business or Accounting
Requirements/Qualifications
• 1-3 years of payroll experience
• Knowledge of state payroll laws
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, i.e. Outlook, advanced Excel (pivot tables, vlook-up, etc.)
• Certified Payroll experience
• High attention for detail and accuracy
• Confidentiality
• Excellent attendance
