Proposed Job Title: DevOps - SOLR (OK to use “Python Developer”)
We are part of the MLPT organization. As part of MLPT, our goal is to build systems and services that will help accelerate the pace of adoption of ML. Our focus area is in building data systems specific to ML engineering problems. We are working on building a service that will provide centralized search and indexing services to varied MLPT products. Our goal is to providing relevant search capability to MLPT customer’s data helps in visualizing and discovering insights that directly play an important role in connecting customers to their needs.
Brief job description with clear role, responsibilities, and deliverables that they are expected to deliver in a time-bound project
We would like to hire a contractor to:
1. Provide infrastructure support for Services and Apache Solr on Kubernetes.
2. Implement integration testing and reliability testing for Search service.
3. Implement automated performance framework and tests that are run on a regular basis and as part of release process
4. Writes specifications and documentation for the integration and reliability testing

Yes. Ideally, we would like work with someone that is in the Pacific timezone so that they are in the same timezone as the rest of the team. But, this is a not a hard requirements. Use Seattle location to set rate and for Merlin location.
Top 2-3 skills you will be looking for when you review resumes?
1. Experience with and knowledge of Apache Solr is a must.
2. Experience with one language e.g., Python, Golang etc. Preferred experience working in Linux, MacOS environments
3. Experience working with GitHub, Gitlab, CI/CD Pipelines etc.
4. Experience writing integration and reliability tests.
5. Experience with using REST APIs
9. Anything that would automatically disqualify a candidate?
• Lack of coding experience
• Lack of experience in using REST APIs
• Lack of experience working with automated CI/CD pipelines
• Lack of Solr experience
10. Years of experience:
