Diligence Specialist

Responsibilities


About the job

The Diligence Specialist will report up to the officers within CIBC USA’s Specialty Finance Group. The role entails a minimum of two years of on-the-job training, where the individual will learn the nuances of performing diligence activities for finance company clients. Upon completion of training, skill assimilation, and demonstration of job proficiency, the role will lead to promotion opportunities within the team.  
 
Position Responsibilities:
Become proficient in client reporting/monitoring for specialty finance operations
Develop working knowledge of CIBC Bank USA's credit policy and risk rating frameworks
Assist diligence officers in:
  • administering field exam projects (including occasional travel)
  • reviewing field exam reports and summarizing critical findings
  • maintaining client performance trend cards
  • monitoring client key performance metrics
Assist relationship managers in:
  • creating reporting packages for specialty finance clients
  • measuring and completing financial covenant compliance
  • developing and creating risk ratings for each specialty finance client
Complete other tasks and special projects, as needed.

Qualifications


Skillsets Required:
  • Proficiency, or willingness to learn:
  • Microsoft Office skills (Primarily Microsoft Excel)
  • Math and analytical problem solving
  • Reading and interpreting financial statements and reporting
  • Willingness to speak up, ask questions, and challenge assumptions
  • Ability to independently problem solve and leverage available resources
  • Desire to work with others in a team setting
  • Openness to occasional travel and after office hours work to complete jobs
