Accounting Specialist III - Temporary

The focus for the Accounting Specialist III will be processing Domestic and International invoices. A successful candidate will perform accounts payable responsibilities, ensuring that all accounts payable documents are received, properly coded, authorized, and entered for payment.


Responsibilities

  • Managing accounts payable using Hyland AnyDoc and OnBase software, and other programs
  • Analyzing workflow processes
  • Reconcile vendor statements to company records, investigating discrepancies and initiating corrections within department guidelines as necessary
  • Communicate with end users by phone and/or email to assist with any payment issues
  • Communicate with vendors by phone and/or email to reconcile accounts as well as educate domestic vendors regarding Fred Hutch tax status
  • Assist in check & ACH payment audit prior to release of payment
  • Review taxability of domestic transactions
  • High volume invoice processing
  • Assist with month end close
  • Maintain confidentiality of organizational information
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; College level accounting classes or Accounting degree preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience in accounting or accounts payable
  • Experience with Washington State sales/use tax regulations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of budgeting and accounting principles
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Well organized with attention to detail
  • PeopleSoft and Hyland OnBase experience advantageous
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
