Marketing Outreach Intern

About the Role:
We are looking for an energetic and positive-thinking marketing outreach intern to join our team! This person is someone who has a heart to serve others through building lasting connections and meaningful partnerships with between businesses, communities, and people!

As the Marketing Outreach Intern at C Lenoir Publishing, you'll be working closely with the Publishing Assistant to execute our outreach strategy to continue creating new partnerships with clients and businesses for CLP programs and events.

Marketing Outreach Interns will gain hands-on experience conceptualizing and executing marketing campaigns and strategies for a B2C small business as well as working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Report directly to the Publishing Assistant (PA)
  • Attend weekly team meetings to discuss all client/partnership updates and information 
  • Coordinate and execute a monthly outreach strategy with PA and Publisher for CLP writing programs, publishing services, and events
  • Assist with outreach communications, including newsletter blasts, email communications, campaign creation for events
  • Manage, maintain, and consistently update outreach files with up-to-date information for all prospective clients and event partners
  • Perform market research to identify prospective clients and business partners
  • Assist with communications for our virtual events when needed, including sending promotional assets to featured event hosts 

Our goal candidate:
  • A self-starter who can work independently and with a team
  • A positive and can-do attitude
  • Willing and confident to ask for help whenever needed
  • Sophomore, junior, or senior in college or recent graduate
  • Available to work remotely 1-2 days a week, minimum 10 hours
  • 1+ years of marketing or PR outreach (relevant volunteer, internship, and school activities count!)
  • Experience using Mailchimp and creating newsletter blasts
  • Experience working on multiple projects at a given time
  • Expert business writing and communications skills
  • Keen attention to detail (i.e. proofreading)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Must be earnest and diligent about their professional and personal growth

Great to have but not a requirement:
  • Mass communications, journalism, or marketing major a plus
  • Experience working at a B2C company a plus
  • Experience with marketing campaigns and outreach in a B2C company a plus
  • Experience with graphic design a plus (Canva counts!)
  • Interest in a career in media communications, public relations, or marketing a plus

Duration of Internship:
Seasonal (3 months)
  • Summer: June - August (applications open in April)
  • Autumn: September - November (applications open in July)
  • Winter: December - February (applications open in October)
  • Spring: March - May (applications open in January)

Compensation:
College credit (based on your campus's requirements)
