Commercial Real Estate Appraiser (Los Angeles)

This job will have the applicant become a commercial real estate appraiser in Los Angeles. Approximately 80% of the work is commercial real estate and 20% being business and equipment in nature. The job is writing and research driven. The work involves research on various industries and commercial real estate (no residential).
 
Valuations of businesses, equipment, and commercial real estate are invaluable to corporations for obtaining financing, stock gifting to beneficiaries, as well as for bankruptcy and internal decision making purposes.
 
With respect to commercial real estate, we have completed valuations of existing and to be developed malls, community, and neighborhood shopping centers; fast food restaurants, high/mid/garden style office buildings, medical office buildings; distribution, manufacturing, research and development, business parks; high/low rise apartment complexes both with and without bond assistance, senior housing; condominium conversions; hospitals, acute and outpatient facilities, skilled nursing and retirement communities; motels, hotels, and resorts; clubs; entertainment centers; marinas; golf courses, agricultural uses ranging from dry crop land to orchards and vineyards; self storage facilities; subdivisions and planned communities; easements, leaseholds, fractional and partial interests; mortuaries; mines and rock quarries; mountains; auto and trucking dealership facilities; movie theatres (mega and multi-plexes); historic properties; schools; churches; ice skating rinks; wineries and grape crush facilities; tax appeal and testimony, throughout the United States. We have has also valued numerous tenancies in common (fractional) and leasehold interests throughout the United States. Requirements:
An undergraduate college degree in the following areas including but not limited to finance, accounting, economics, math, real estate, or business or science. A background in accounting and finance is helpful, although not necessary. Writing skills are important. Science and Math majors are encouraged to apply.

Applicants must be able to handle deadlines. Knowledge of another language is useful.

No prior real estate experience is necessary. This is an entry level job that will introduce the applicant to the basic necessities of a career in commercial real estate and supplementary business industries. There are ample opportunities for promotion and mobility within the company for those seeking a career in commercial real estate or business valuation.

The work involves research on various industries and commercial real estate assets.

Salary:
$52,000 plus billing commission. First year appraisers typically make $55-65,000 (base pay of $52,000 plus billable commissions).
