Revenue Analyst

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Music for All is seeking a qualified candidate for an Education and Advocacy Coordinator. This position will work under the direction of the Director of Advocacy and Educational Resources but will require collaborative work with a wide range of MFA departments including its Educational Consultants Team, Advancement, Events/Programming, Marketing, and Participant Relations departments.
Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Support in development and curating the organization’s advocacy initiatives, including the assistance of writing and presenting advocacy messaging related to the organization’s priority for its inclusion across company-wide communication
  • Support in the continued development of the organization’s “Advocacy in Action” program/initiative (to gather and be a web-based clearinghouse for best practices)
  • Support administration of the organization’s initiatives related to Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) commitments, urban programming, small and rural schools programming, and related work to the Music Education Alliance
  • Administer the organization’s recognition programs for teachers, boosters, and advocates, including the Patrick John Hughes Parent/Booster Award, the George N. Parks Leadership in Music Education Award, and the Bands of America/Music for All Hall of Fame recognitions
  • Administer contract files and manage on-site relationships for the organization’s 400+ annual consultants/clinicians (Bands of America adjudicators, Summer Symposium faculty, National Festival clinicians, Tournament of Roses staff)
  • Administer feedback tool for BOA participating directors related to adjudicator performance and event operations
  • Organize and maintain the curation and facilitation of the organization’s vast educational resources, including the Education and Advocacy sites, as well as operations related to webinars and podcasts
  • Support the administration of the Future Music Educators Experience and related programming
  • Assist the Director of Advocacy and Educational Resources in performance of the department and his duties
  • Regularly communicate (phone and email) with educators/teachers, adjudicators, clinicians, conductors, faculty and VIPs regarding organizational and program details
  • Maintain professional and high-quality relationships with participants, including students, educators, parents, and future music educators
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Advocacy and Educational Resources
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Music for All is seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented individual with the below skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree required with preferred concentration in Music Education, Music Business, or Arts Administration
  • Ability to communicate effectively through many mediums including phone, email, mail, publications and verbal
  • Ability to recognize and keep confidential information
  • Experience with web-based applications such as content managed systems preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel, preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail, especially under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated leadership, organization, interpersonal skills as well as strong attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of and enthusiasm for music and arts education
  • Strong work ethic, willingness to embrace our organization and its mission and an interest in supporting the arts community
  • Solid analytical, writing and communication skills; strategic thinker
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends, as necessary to support events
  • Ability and willingness to travel to/for events and programs, as well as meetings with stakeholders and potential stakeholders.

Revenue Analyst

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Music for All is seeking an individual to be our Revenue Analyst. This individual reports to the Controller. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Perform accounting operations related to program revenues.
  • Maintain records of billings and revenue received and due related to Sponsorship agreements, Grants, Commissions, and Donations.
  • Work with venues to manage ticketing for MFA events through Ticketmaster or our third party provider, including managing secondary box office orders, and coordinating ticketing process from pre-orders through settlement of each Ticketmaster event.
  • Oversee processing of revenue related financial transactions and processing of customer invoices in a timely manner.
  • Maintain Accounts Receivable aging and manage collection of past due accounts. Identify and resolves outstanding balances on a monthly basis.
  • Verify, balance, and perform daily deposits.
  • Prepare accounting records and financial reports per organization standards.
  • Perform reconciliations of accounts receivable and deferred revenue accounts.
  • Support financial planning, revenue variance analysis, and revenue budgeting and forecasting.
  • Utilize software applications for company accounting operations.
  • Support recruitment and training of event volunteers and contract staff for box office operations.
Every candidate for a position at Music for All must understand and acknowledge that a substantial portion of the organization’s business is the planning and execution of special events. As such, all Music for All employees are involved in the planning of events and have some on-site event production duties and responsibilities.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Music for All is seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented individual with the following skills and experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field.
  • Three to five years of related work experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software i.e. Microsoft Dynamics (Business Central 365) and customer database management software such as SalesForce.
  • Experience with box office management preferred.
  • Ticketmaster experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Strong work ethic and a willingness to serve Music for All’s mission.
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
