Accounting Associate

Job Summary:
Title:            Accounting Associate, General Accounting
Reports to:    Controller
Location:       DMG Mori USA
Hours:            Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm
Classification: Non Exempt
Travel:           0%

Essential Job Functions:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Primary scope of position includes but is not limited to:
 
  • Record option invoices and credit memos on a daily basis.
  • Verify the option vendor statements and follow up on past due items with local offices on a weekly basis.
  • Track and confirm statuses of machine sale related options on a weekly basis by working with the local sales admins.
  • Invoice out for any stand-alone option related orders.
  • Compare machine gross margin against the sales Workflow and adjust accrual as necessary.
  • Month end closing process, such as option re-class, option accruals, in-transit option reconciliation, etc.
  • Maintain support documents in organized manner for audit purposes.
  • Problem solve accounting related issues by working with local offices and management.
  • Develop, prepare, generate, and analyze ongoing and ad-hoc special reports for management.
  • Various other General Accounting projects.
  • Other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:  
  • Experience in Accounting, Finance or Business related field.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business related discipline preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge.
  • Good human relations skills, strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Well-developed problem solving skills and ability to develop conceptual alternatives.
  • Must possess advanced mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet reporting deadlines.
 
Work Environment:
General office environment will be experienced. There will be periodic exposure to manufacturing environments which may present possible hazards such as noise, electricity, chemicals, heavy equipment, and other automated and manual machinery.
 
Physical Demands:
Frequent: Sitting at desk, utilizing computers and phones. Repetitive hand, wrist, arm, and shoulder movements.
Periodic: Standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
Occasional: Lifting, pushing, and pulling objects.
 
Employment is conditioned on DMG MORI's ability to obtain and maintain any necessary export licensing.
