Helping Hands Marketing Intern Fall 2021

Are you passionate about social innovation and using new business models to change the world? Do you enjoy working in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment with like-minded colleagues? We are looking for talented students who want to help Civic Champs (winners of the 2019 IU CLAPP competition and a Techcrunch Disrupt Startup Battlefield company) with a special pro-bono project called Helping Hands to help alleviate the effects of COVID-19 for at-risk populations. 
 
Helping Hands
Helping Hands is an initiative of the Civic Champs Foundation (a nonprofit 501c3) founded to mitigate the challenges faced by elderly high-risk members of the Bloomington community as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Helping Hands connects those at high-risk with volunteers in the Bloomington community to complete tasks such as grocery delivery, pharmacy pickups, and more. In the past six months, over 700 recipients in the Bloomington area have been assisted. 

Helping Hands was launched on June 1st with the help of six IU project management interns. Since then, it has developed a website with the help of the Kelley HOPE digital project, and has already grown to serve over five members of the Bloomington community each week with 5+ new volunteers signing up to help each week as well. Learn more at the Helping Hands website here

Internship Opportunity for Fall 2021
This position entails working alongside four to five other interns and reporting directly to our CEO, Geng Wang, an Harvard Business School alumnus, former McKinsey & Company Engagement Manager, and serial entrepreneur. As an intern, you will be responsible for developing and furthering the success of the Helping Hands Project. Some of the responsibilities include but are not limited to: graphic design, media outreach, operations management, business development, analytics, and business communication. Each internship is personalized and shaped by the intern’s interests and existing skill-set. 
 
Marketing Internship
Are you interested in social media marketing and blog writing? Helping Hands is looking for a candidate to design and manage its social media profiles. This position also entails working on other projects where interns will have the opportunity to learn and use applications such as Adobe XD, Figma, and WordPress. 

Preferred Qualities:
An ideal candidate is comfortable wearing multiple hats and excels in positions that both require accountability and encourage autonomy.
