Helping Hands
Helping Hands is an initiative of the Civic Champs Foundation (a nonprofit 501c3) founded to mitigate the challenges faced by elderly high-risk members of the Bloomington community as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Helping Hands connects those at high-risk with volunteers in the Bloomington community to complete tasks such as grocery delivery, pharmacy pickups, and more. In the past six months, over 700 recipients in the Bloomington area have been assisted.

Helping Hands was launched on June 1st with the help of six IU project management interns. Since then, it has developed a website with the help of the Kelley HOPE digital project, and has already grown to serve over five members of the Bloomington community each week with 5+ new volunteers signing up to help each week as well. Learn more at the Helping Hands website here
