Mild/Moderate Special Education Teacher

The Mount Diablo Unified School District is recruiting special education teachers for the 2021-22 school year!

Whether you are a classified employee of a local school district, a teacher who wants to focus on Special Education, or you simply have a calling for teaching children with disabilities, we are interested! We also partner with a local college to help you earn your credential to prepare you to teach students with exceptional needs. If you have a Bachelor’s Degree, the district may be eligible to place you on a Provisional Internship Permit while you earn your Education Specialist Credential to allow you to begin teaching this Fall. Saint Mary’s College of California, Kalmanovitz Graduate School of Education, has partnered with the Mount Diablo Unified School District to offer the Mild-to-Moderate Education Specialist Credential Program to their employees. The program offers:
  • Reduced tuition by 22% for qualified participants. 
  • Additional stipend of $3750 for qualified participants. 
  • Tuition assistance is available.
  • The 2022 cohort starts in January with completion in 18 months.
  • Classes meet 2-3 days a week from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. 
  • Classes mainly held at the MDUSD Willow Creek Professional Development Center- 1026 Mohr Lane Concord and also on the St. Mary’s College campus.
