2021 Fall Co-Op, Software Test

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Software Test Co-Op will contribute to the software release quality by applying manual and automated testing techniques. 
 
  • Learn and apply the fundamental concepts of manual and automated software testing, using Java, Selenium or Appium, SoapUI
  • Learn about Chamberlain Group’s cloud platform and connected devices
  • Learn to operate in an Agile team setting by being part of a scrum team and participating in daily scrum, sprint planning, and retrospectives
  • Contribute to testing new features by analyzing requirements and creating test cases
  • Participate in regression testing by executing test cases, recording test results in TestRail
  • Report software defects in JIRA and present them to the team in daily stand-up
  • Participate in smoke testing during code deployments 
  • Document software defects and report your findings to the team
  • Comply with the security requirements set forth by the Information Security team and the established ISO 27001 Security Roles, Responsibilities, and Authorities Document found in the ISMS Document Library
  • Protect CGI’s reputation by keeping information confidential
 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Rising Senior standing towards a Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, or computer science strongly preferred
  • Must be committed to the duration of the Fall Semester (September to December 2021)
  • Must possess an unrestricted right to work in the United States
  • Must be local during the Fall season as 3 days are required to be in the Oak Brook office
  • GPA minimum: 3.5 on a 4.0 point scale
Experience: 
  • Demonstrated experience in OOP programming in Java/C#
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Effective communication skills
  • Willingness to learn quickly and ask questions 

Preferred Qualifications 
Experience:
  • Intern or co-op experience 
  • Demonstrated experience in software testing
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficient with MS Office tools
  • Self-driven, organized, goal oriented individual with positive attitude
