The City Budget Office (CBO) is seeking a qualified City Economist to join their team.
 
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented and collaborative City Economist who is eager to apply their skills to lead financially resilient budget planning and decision-making across the City. The City Economist independently develops and manages the General Fund and Recreational Cannabis Tax fund forecasts; develops and provides inflation forecasts for all funds and budget managers across the City, tracks and manages General Fund appropriation levels; monitors and advises on economic trends and impacts on City revenues; provides complex analyses and publishes economic reports on issues affecting the City; provides counsel and advice to the Mayor, Council members, and other City leaders on issues pertaining to financial and taxation practices and policies; represents the City and the City Budget Office on inter- and intra-governmental bodies; and provides other City charter-mandated and policy-mandated functions. The City Economist is a member of the Budget Office management team and reports directly to the Budget Director.
