Safety Coordinator Fellow - July 2022 Start

THE POSITION:

We’re looking for adults in their early career stage who have completed an accredited post-secondary degree, value global ministry, and are collaborative. 

The Safety Coordinator Fellow will work closely with the Director of Safety and Security to ensure that JAARS is a safe and healthy place to serve. He or she will learn about safety best practices for a variety of work environments and assist in implementing and auditing them.

Fellows receive the following compensation and benefits:

  • $10 an hour
  • An eleven-month program featuring structured mentorship and ongoing professional development

THE LOCATION:

JAARS Fellows will need to live on campus in Waxhaw, NC. The area is a 40 minute drive from Charlotte, NC, and is known as one of the best places to live in North Carolina. With its mild winters, small town main street, and proximity to both urban centers and outdoor recreation, Waxhaw is the place to be.

WHAT SUCCESS AS A FELLOW LOOKS LIKE:

By the end of the eleven-month fellowship, the Safety Coordinator Fellow will have:

  • Developed training plans and content for organizational safety needs.
  • Drafted policy, procedure, and plans to shape organizational response to regular and exceptional workplace safety events.
  • Conducted recurring audits, inspections, investigations, and training
  • Worked on a multi-generational team and developed necessary skills to be both an active listener and contributor on a diverse team. 
  • Learned applicable life skills.
  • Received guidance on next steps and know which step to take toward their professional goals.
