Mortgage Loan Officer

This position is not remote!
Hours: 8 hour shifts, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 5:30pm.

Role Summary: Solicits and develops a wide variety of residential mortgage loans. Includes mortgage, home equity loans, etc. Works closely with branch staff to support member mortgage loan needs through referrals at assigned branches. Primarily deals with direct, single family loans.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Receives and screens loan applications; requests applicant credit and mortgage status, banking and personal reference, notifies those applicants not qualified for further consideration.
  • Conducts the loan interview and secures the member information necessary to initiate a loan transaction. Then provides loan information and service to members, realtors, and others as needed.
  • Responds to inquiries from prospective members regarding all types of mortgage and construction loans, provides requested information regarding the organizations lending policies and procedures.
  • Reviews completed applications to determine member eligibility; submits those applications qualified for further consideration to the Loan Underwriter for conditional approval; provides additional information as required.
  • Request and review supporting documentation for qualifying purposes, this includes employment, income, property and asset documentation.
  • Prepares records and reports as requested regarding loan origination and closing activities.
  • Identify opportunities for cross selling internal products, this would include HELOC’s, Consumer Loans, Credit Cards, and Depository Accounts.

Ideal Candidate:
  • An interest in learning about the Mortgage industry!
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferences:
  • Experience working for a financial institution.
