The U.S. Insurance & Retirement Businesses compromises of Annuities, Individual Life Insurance, Group Insurance, Retirement, and Retail Advice and Solutions which includes Prudential Advisors. These businesses provide a range of income, protection and advice offerings and are supported by the Enabling Solutions organization which is charged with enhancing and unifying the service experience for Prudential’s retail and institutional customers in the U.S.
Your Day to Day:
Placements will vary across the business, some experiences within our U.S. Insurance & Retirement Operations Internship Program could include:
Group Insurance Claims (Location: Virtual)
Prudential’s Group Insurance organization works within a full range of group life, long-term and short-term group disability, and group corporate, bank and trust owned life insurance in the U.S. primarily to institutional clients for use in connection with employer plans and affinity groups. The Group Insurance Claims intern will have the opportunity to work closely with our Claims team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Interact and communicate with internal and external customers which can include claimants, physicians, attorneys, underwriters, etc. as necessary
- Gather and collect medical record requests and ensure completion of all follow up conversations to support the claims review decision process
- Support and gain hands-on experience in a customer facing role that manages claims caseloads by shadowing subject matter experts
Group Insurance Service (Location: Dresher, PA; Virtual)
Prudential’s Group Insurance Service group works within a full range of group life, long-term and short-term group disability, and group corporate, bank and trust owned life insurance in the U.S. primarily to institutional clients for use in connection with employer plans and affinity groups. The Group Insurance Service intern will have the opportunity to work closely with the Billing Operations team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Accountable for Receivable and Suspense Management over an assigned Book of Business consisting of multiple Premier Market (100-5000) Customers
- Accountable for the resolution of billing related customer issues through coordinated efforts with internal and external stakeholders
- Code regular entries for distribution accounts, audit disbursements, vouchers, debit, and credit memos, etc.
- Perform root cause analysis on billing issues and identify & recommend procedural changes
Your Desired Skills:
- Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s program graduating between December 2022 and May 2023
- Open to all majors. Preferred majors include Business, Accounting, Finance, Customer Service, Operations. Minimum 3.0 GPA required
- Prudential does not provide visa sponsorship for this position. Successful candidates must possess the requisite US employment authorization to be eligible for consideration
- Strong problem solving, critical thinking, analytical, and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel with Pivot Table/VLookUp abilities preferred
