Principal Appraiser

Under the general direction and supervision of the director of assessing, the principal appraiser performs advanced real property appraisals on all commercial, industrial, and oil & gas properties by completing data collection, sales analysis, and estimating construction costs for various types of residential and commercial real property. The appraiser also conducts various surveys, researches construction costs, and analyzes economic information to establish commercial valuation models and to develop standards for field inspections pertaining to the quality and classification of residential and commercial real property. This is professional work requiring extensive public contact and explanation of policies, procedures and applicable Borough and State ordinances and laws and involving the complex application of standard appraisal practice performed in accordance with accepted standards and practices with a high degree of independence requiring the exercise of independent judgment in recommending action on specific cases.
