The Role:
The Website Developer will have full responsibility for both back-end and front-end development, including creating and updating WordPress themes, managing plugins, and maintaining the website architecture.

As a key member of the Sojern Marketing team, the Website Developer will be a key member of our website team working directly with the Creative Ops team to implement new designs, improve the overall user experience and help build a fully integrated self-service system for customer sign up. The ideal candidate has great interpersonal skills, is technically adept, and can see the strategic big picture. They must also be a team player who enjoys working with a group and is passionate about creating high-quality user experiences.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the travel advertising industry and gain experience working on a broad range of website projects. Working remotely or out of one of our US based offices, you’ll be part of a fast-growing international marketing team!

Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain our corporate website
  • Design and implement new features and functionality
  • Minimize downtown and troubleshoot and resolve website issues
  • Optimize website load-time and interactive performance
  • Translate designs and mockups into responsive, pixel perfect pages
  • Assists with the development and implementation of new processes and procedures
  • Evaluate code to ensure it meets industry standards, is valid, is properly structured, and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems
  • Work closely and collaborate with cross-functional teams including, Marketing, Commercial, Product, and Design

Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Computer Science or similar field
  • Proficiency using WordPress
  • Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP
  • Experience using debugging tools such as Firebug and Chrome Inspector
  • Strong understanding of front-end and back-end website development
  • Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
  • Good understanding of website architecture and aesthetics
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to develop ideas and processes and clearly express them
  • Maintaining an understanding of the latest web applications and programming practices through education, study, and participation in conferences, workshops, and groups
  • Must be highly detail-oriented and self-motivated to prioritize and manage workload and meet critical project milestones and deadlines
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and monitor progress across a large project
