Entry level Research Associate position in Medical Device company in (R&D) Material Developement Dept.The prospective candidate will deal primarily with polymers, Analytical testing on various different instruments, writing Test methods , product validations. Liquid embolics , coating on different types of medical applications. great opportunity for entry level chemists.
Under guidance and supervision, evaluates the chemical and physical properties of various organic and inorganic substances in order to investigate their applications to the medical device industry. Job duties:
- Primary work location is in the R&D chemistry laboratory. Secondary work location is in an office environment.
- Handles chemicals safely in accordance with approved processes and procedures.
- Performs laboratory tasks under direct supervision.
- Performs chemical reactions, including polymerization, coupling, derivatization, and digestion.
- Performs chemical processes, including dissolution, extraction, precipitation, and filtration.
- Able to utilize general laboratory equipment independently.
- Performs analytical testing using established methods in high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), gas chromatography (GC), inductively coupled plasma – mass spectroscopy (ICP-MS), and infrared spectroscopy (FTIR).
- Perform simulated use, in vitro testing to determine performance of current, competitive, and proposed products.
- Performs analysis of lab and analytical results to summarize, report, and make conclusions.
- Writes internal documentation, including test methods and procedures.
- Disposes of waste chemicals and materials following approved safety processes and procedures.
