Accounting Intern
The Jacobson Institute for Youth Entrepreneurship, located in Van Allen Hall, has an $11/hour internship opportunity available for a student interested in accounting beginning immediately. Schedule is flexible but must be available to work between 5-7 hours a week during the spring, summer, and fall semesters.
Experience Required:
· Studying Financial Accounting
· 3.2 minimum GPA
· Excellent communication skills
· Well organized
· Detail oriented
· Ability to manage time and prioritize projects
· MUST be proficient in Microsoft Office Products, specifically Access and Excel
Desirable Qualifications:
· Prior accounting experience
· Prior entrepreneurial or small business experience
· Understanding of Quick Books (or other small business management software)
Hours required:
· $11.00 per hour
· Hours are flexible between Monday – Friday, 8AM-5PM
· Spring, summer, and fall availability – one year commitment required.
The responsibilities include:
· Creating invoices
· Maintaining vendors
· Providing required documentation to Shared Services for monthly University Procurement Card Reconciliations
· Managing Budget Expenses
· Jacobson Institute Account Reconciliations
· Corresponding Purchase Orders and Vouchers with Shared Services
· Deposits and Cash Handling
· Special projects
· Other duties as assigned
