Corporate Training Coordinator

The Corporate Training Coordinator (Coordinator) is responsible for coordinating the development, scheduling, and administering of WEST’s training programs for new and existing staff. The Coordinator must ensure the training material is in compliance with WEST standards and protocols, across multiple functional and geographical areas and performs necessary follow-up review to ensure efficiency of training efforts. Additional responsibilities include revising or drafting scripts and supporting materials as training issues arise, and ensuring all materials are reviewed and approved by management prior to administering the training.
 
  • Diligently work to thoroughly learn the company culture, services, systems, processes, protocols and staff training needs of WEST.
  • Work collaboratively with senior management, project managers and various staff to develop, compose, edit and deliver approved trainings to all staff levels to ensure consistency and quality throughout the organization.
  • Working with management, identify problem areas, trends and training needs to develop individual and/or team training plans.
  • Provide expertise on developing and presenting leadership and communication trainings
  • As training needs are identified, update/maintain all trainings and operating procedures as necessary. Ensure management review and approval prior to distribution to staff, and ensure all appropriate staff receives timely and accurate training and the materials/resources associated with the training. Develop operating procedures to support training programs, as needed.
  • Coordinate with the management team to identify outside training opportunities, webinars, internet sites and resources for staff to attend/utilize to maintain and update their knowledge base and improve staff performance. 
  • Monitor new employee’s progress while in training and advise management if any issues arise. 
  • Track all employees’ completion of required trainings.
  • Create a positive and supportive work environment by supporting and maintaining professional demeanor under stressful circumstances.
  • Establish training materials at all levels so quality improvement efforts will meet or exceed internal and external client needs and expectations.
  • Work with mentors and in-house trainers on their effectiveness
  • Participate in regular meetings to communicate status and relevant project and training updates.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
The Coordinator we are seeking has a great opportunity to help WEST take the next step in our growth as a premier environmental consulting firm. The successful candidate must be a self-starter who possesses:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in education, training or other related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience or education in Biology, Ecology, Zoology, Natural Resources or related field is preferred
  • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of previous training or conference development and presentation 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to comfortably and effectively communicate with all levels of management and employees Proven presentation and facilitation skills both in-person and via web conferencing
  • Strong technical/scientific capacity (familiarity with scientific and technical terminology)
  • Diverse writing experience (strategic plans, training programs, surveys and reports)
  • Ability to edit videos
  • Ability to consistently generate results with a high level of credibility, integrity, professionalism, customer service and motivation
  • Highly collaborative work ethic
  • High level of literacy (knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including rules of composition and grammar)
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Problem solving/analysis
  • Ability to utilize diverse communication tools and presentation delivery styles 
  • Proficiency in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and various other presentation software
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to work well under time constraints and meet deliverable targets and deadlines
  • Moderate and overnight travel will be required.
 
After an offer of employment is made, the candidate must successfully pass a pre- employment background check, drug screening, and a DMV records check that meets WEST’s minimum criteria to operate a motor vehicle on behalf of the company. A valid driver’s license will be required.
