Marketing & Communications Intern

Position: Marketing & Communications Intern

Description: ICAAR seeks a motivated, self-starter to assist in marketing and communication efforts, as well as overall staff support.

This is a great internship if you are looking to gain experience in a variety of areas under the realm of Marketing & Communications. Additionally, our staff loves to work with interns to find which areas interest them the most, and help tailor projects to fill out your resume best for future career options.

Responsibilities:
·     Design social media assets, flyers, graphics, invitations, and other marketing material for events, classes, social campaigns, etc. hosted by ICAAR
·     Draft and distribute emails, including working on the Monthly Newsletter
·     Draft Press Releases, video scripts, membership surveys, etc.
·     Update the ICAAR website as needed, including drafting blog posts
·     Attend various committee meetings, preparing agendas and taking notes as needed
·     Collaborate with staff on new ideas, directions, and venues for marketing and communications
·     Assist in administrative duties (maintain and organize administrative files, collect and manage invoices, answering phones, etc.)
·     Assist in planning and execution of association events and classes
·     Occasionally traveling to real estate offices within the Iowa City Area
·     Occasionally set-up and work evening events (1-2x a semester)

Qualifications:
·     Working towards a degree in related field (English, Marketing/Communications, Public Relations, etc.)
·     Firm grasp of different social media platforms and tools
·     Computer literate, graphic design experience preferred (Canva, Adobe)
·     Photography, Videography, Video Editing skills not required, but a plus
·     Self-motivated, ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines
·     Professional written and verbal communication skills
·     Outgoing, friendly, and personable demeanor
·     Reliable transportation

While prior experience is not required, please include any software, programs, or equipment that you have experience with on your resume (graphic design programs, scheduling software, marketing automation tools, project management software, website platforms, video editing programs, etc.)

Start Date: Position open until filled, requires commitment for the duration of the fall semester, potential to extend additional semesters. Ideal start week of August 23.

Hours: 20-25 hours a week

Compensation: $15/hour
