ACE is seeking a Copy Editor for the fall semester to review and revise policy briefs before they are published on our website and in our quarterly journal. ACE's team of Student Fellows produce 1 to 3 page policy briefs in 10 research areas. The Copy Editor will edit each brief for grammar, spelling, length, and writing style. The Copy Editor is not responsible for fact checking.

ACE aims to communicate complex policy issues in a clear, concise, nonpartisan way. A successful Copy Editor will understand the direct style used by ACE and our peer organizations. 100 Student Fellows contribute to ACE's policy database, with varying levels of education and writing experience.

Details:
  • This position works alongside the Director of Policy Research.
  • The estimated time commitment is 5 hours per week—slightly lower for the month of September.
  • Previous experience as a Copy Editor is not as important as writing style.
  • Candidates with strong writing samples will be invited to interview.

This position is ideally suited for students looking to gain experience which will allow them to break into the publishing field.
