Organization Description:
BDM+M provides several public relations and marketing services. The company is an international award-winning talent and public relations agency that works with companies to define and maintain brand integrity across all company marketing initiatives through content creation, media outreach, and influencer marketing to boost the company’s visibility and drive engagement. Primary operations of work are provided for local, regional and national festivals, brands, arts-related organizations, musicians and artists in the profit and non-profit sectors. The company also specializes in communications training and consulting. 

Our influencers are micro-influencers (read: authentic) in Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Kansas City, Omaha and Des Moines who act as brand ambassadors to authentically reach a company’s target audience, build trust, and affect the purchasing decisions of others due to his or her authority.

The Internship Program:
This program is designed to provide a well-rounded experience for participants looking to gain experience in the marking, public relations, and modeling industries. This program offers the opportunity to engage in multiple aspects including:

  • Lead Generation & Market Research
  • Stage Management & Artist Relations
  • Marketing & Publicity
  • Graphic Design & Social Media
  • Event Staffing & Administration
  • Hospitality & Customer Service
  • Web Development & Technical Support
  • General Industry Exposure & Networking


Interns may perform many duties including:

  • Social media micro-influencer scouting
  • Social media management across all platforms (intern will be trained in both design and best practices plus ad creative and execution)
  • Working in our booking software that is used by modeling agencies globally
  • Filing talent documents and entering data into our system
  • Processing new contracts and applications in the model and talent database
  • Copywriting: Press releases, blog posts, client pitchbooks
  • Website maintenance: Search engine optimization, copy, images
  • Interns may also assist our bookers by calling/messaging talent to inform them of castings, campaign details, etc.
  • Applying for awards

Qualifications:
  • Confident and dynamic individuals whose passion not only spans for music and entertainment but for business and/or technology.
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be customer service oriented and comfortable talking with potential or existing clients
  • Possess strong research, writing and organizational skills
  • Able to understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality
  • Must be dependable, punctual and resourceful
  • Must have a reliable internet connection, have strong familiarity with social media platforms and be willing to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have a positive attitude and be excited to learn while obtaining a professional demeanor

Wage/Salary:
Internship is unpaid, but BDM+M will help students receive college credit (if applicable).

Days/Hours Per Week:
The internship program lasts for 15-19 weeks, and the applicant MUST be committed to work a minimum of 10 hours and at least 3 days a week but are highly encouraged to put in as much extra time as possible in order to be proficient in the virtual platform. Time requirements are flexible based on the student’s schedule or outside work responsibilities. This will be discussed during the interview and hiring process.
