Work Authorization: This role is open only to individuals who are eligible for employment in the United States and who would not require visa sponsorship now OR in the future.
*Housing is available for summer interns who live more than 25 miles from their assigned office.

Cigna Technology is looking for technology-focused individuals to join the Technology Early Career Development Program (TECDP) summer internship program. The TECDP mission is to support the professional development needs of early career technology associates and interns, as well as early career talent requirements by providing interns with challenging technology assignments, formalized training and guided mentorship. The committed partnership between interns, TECDP program management and Cigna's Technology leaders is a testament to the program’s value and the critical role it plays in developing Cigna's future technology professionals.

The TECDP summer internship offers students interested in technology an opportunity to engage in a challenging professional work experience. The internship is designed to further develop an individual’s technical skills aligned to their interests. The TECDP program manager will work with interns to determine the best role for them prior to starting. In addition to their role work, interns will have the opportunity to participate in a technology innovations project which seeks to solve a real-world technology challenge. The ideal candidate is someone who has a desire to help others and a passion for technology.

Opportunities for interns are available across all of Cigna’s Technology organizations. Our interns are treated as full-time program associates and this opportunity could lead to a full-time employment offer following graduation.

Qualifications:
Internship candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in a technical program at time of hire. Desired degrees include, but are not limited to, Computer Science and Computer Science Engineering, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data Science. Degrees related to business technology disciplines such as Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, and Business Information Systems may be considered based on depth of technology experience. A working knowledge of coding and programming basics is required.

  • Understand and leverage technologies ethically to enhance efficiencies, complete tasks, and accomplish goals
  • 3.2 or better overall GPA preferred

A goal of this internship program is to prepare and identify qualified candidates for future roles within Cigna post-graduation. Therefore, this temporary internship is open only to individuals who are eligible for employment in the United States and who would not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.

For this position in Colorado, we anticipate offering an hourly rate of 16.00, +/- 10%, depending on experience.
