Quality Control Scientist - Biotech


QUALITY CONTROL SCIENTIST
 
COUR is seeking a quality control scientist with skills, experience, and a can-do attitude to join our team of highly skilled scientists and engineers. COUR is a small pharmaceutical company with a big impact where you will help us bring innovative therapeutic products from initial academic research to human proof-of-concept clinical studies. As a QC scientist, you will perform release and stability analytical testing for COUR drug products, contribute to the improvement and expansion of existing processes within the COUR Development and Analytical Laboratory, and serve as a liaison for cross-functional workstreams across the Development and Analytical Laboratory and Quality Assurance.
 
You'll have opportunities to participate in various projects and initiatives in addition to these primary responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
  • Perform release, stability, and in-process analytical testing to support research, pre-clinical, and clinical phase programs and products.
  • Perform data entry utilizing good documentation practices (GDP).
  • Support initiation/closure of quality system records such as lab investigations, deviations, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Ability to efficiently prioritize, manage and complete multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment. 
  • May participate in equipment and method qualifications and validations. 
  • Initiate and author technical documentation, including but not limited to, standard operation procedures (SOP), work instructions, records, and technical reports.
 
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Engineering, or a relevant scientific discipline.
  • 1 to 5 years of industry experience is preferred. Advanced degree considered in lieu of experience.
  • Hands on experience with compendial testing methods (appearance, pH, osmolality, etc) and lab techniques such as gel electrophoresis, ELISA, DLS, flow cytometry, HPLC, etc.
  • Ability to stand-up, test, and operate lab equipment.
  • Experience working in an analytical laboratory is preferred. 
  • Experience working under GMP Quality Systems, or in FDA or other federally regulated industries is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
