Commercial Finance & Pricing Manager

POSITION PURPOSE:

This role will be responsible for providing financial leadership to the V.P. of Product Management and the Product Group. The Commercial Finance and Pricing Manager plays a critical role in driving the product management and pricing department’s success. This individual is responsible for implementation of pricing strategy through the various levers of pricing activity enterprise wide. The Commercial Finance and Pricing Manager leads the development and maintenance of pricing systems, databases, and tools to meet profit goals, comply with company policies, and adhere to customer agreements. This individual will be responsible for leading the pricing administration team and developing processes that drive consistency and continuous improvement in our pricing, quoting, and business case processes.  
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Works directly with senior executives within the organization on pricing strategy and material program management
  • Develops recommendations and necessary analysis/reports to facilitate leadership decisions regarding new pricing strategies to enhance profitability and grow market share
  • Works closely with sales, product management, finance, and operations teams to determine and set prices
  • Responsible for managing the pricing team and partnering with product leaders to ensure product pricing optimizes value to the customer and profitability to AmesburyTruth
  • Generates recommendations on pricing updates based upon competitive intelligence, product differentiation and internal analysis
  • Manages and leads a team through ongoing pricing inquiries from customers and AmesburyTruth’s sales team
  • Leads cross-functional pricing projects to support development and execution of pricing strategies
  • Leads the annual price adjustments, including general market adjustments and customer specific adjustments
  • Manages material (surcharge) and tariff programs including maintaining and updating standard and customer specific material rates/programs
  • Develop and report using a monthly reporting tool to assess the impact of material economics and tariff costs vs recovery
  • Provides research assistance to Product Managers on historical pricing, insights on specific products or customer groups
  • Supports continuous improvement efforts aimed at improving quote response time and product profitability
  • Key Financial advisor to the V.P of Product Development and the AT Product Group organization
  • Demonstrates the ability to drive process improvements: detecting the need for change, proactively gathering requirements, designing and developing processes, implementing change, and stabilizing process changes to deliver on stake-holders’ critical requirements
  • Responsible for the management of planning, forecasting and reporting top line revenue to standard margin
  • Report and develop monthly sales variances and KPI’s to executive leadership team
  • Ability to motivate, develop and lead a team of 2-3 pricing analysts and coordinators
  • Supports product management team monthly financial reporting and ad hoc product and financial analysis to support product strategy and roadmap development, new product introductions, and ongoing life-cycle management

  • Knowledge of and ability to use multiple IT resources (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Sharepoint) at an advanced level
  • Thorough knowledge and expertise in accounting, financial management, and business strategy
  • Strong verbal and written interpersonal skills. Ability to establish cross-functional relationships
  • Ability to effectively diagnose problems and develop solutions
  • Strong US GAAP knowledge required
  • Passion for business and ability to drive change

QUALIFICATIONS / PRIOR EXPERIENCE:
  • 10+ years in pricing, finance, or related business role
  • Previous experience leading a pricing or commercial finance function is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred
  • Pricing modeling, data regression modeling, statistics preferred
  • Demonstrated success analyzing large amounts of data and providing recommendations
  • B2B (multi-channel) experience preferred
  • Experience working in SAP preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to use normal office equipment (scanner, printer, copier, computer).
  • Domestic travel
  • The work performed is conducted in a climate-controlled facility with moderate noise levels that are within OSHA limits
