Imaging Services Assistant - Volunteer

**ELIGIBLE FOR FEDERAL WORK-STUDY**

If you're the kind of person who likes to make sure that everyone feels comfortable and well taken care of then this might be the right position for you. Imaging Services volunteers help to check patients in to the department and escort them to the various areas within Imaging Services that they need to go to. In between helping patients and families, you will help the office staff with a variety of filing, organization and clean up tasks that will help the department run at its most effective and efficient. This is an excellent opportunity for any person who is interested in becoming an sonographer or radiologic technician as you will get to see up close personal how a busy Imaging department works.

HOURS of ASSIGNMENT:
Monday - Friday
o  9AM to 12PM
o  Or as arranged by Imaging Services

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Report to the main reception desk of Imaging Services
  2. Scan Communication clipboard for assignments and projects for that day.
  3. Escort Imaging Service patients to sub-specialty areas such as Ultrasound, CT and Nuclear Medicine.
  4. Verify identification on all patients
  5. Use AIDET as a means of communicating with patients and guests.
  6. Use excellent “handoff” skills.
  7. Review Pt. Education booklet with patients waiting to receive services with technologist.
  8. Create Photo book for patients
  9. Purge old film according to guidelines.
  10. Input Cole Technical data from list

Hours of Assignment
9am-12pm Monday through Friday
