Safety Co-Op - Summer or Fall 2022

POSITION PURPOSE 

Support and coordinate programs and activities with respect to safety and security services at the Mobile facility. The position will take direction from the site Safety Manager, Safety Coordinator or Safety Specialist to implement steps necessary to maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations.  

· Assist with revisions to the safety management systems, which include written standards, training 

requirements, monitoring/auditing elements and corrective action steps. Systems shall meet or 

exceed compliance objectives and create value added enhancement to plant operations whenever 

feasible. 

· Evaluate, specify and audit the proper application of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) 

· Track completion of corrective actions identified through audits or investigations. 

· Maintain appropriate records in accordance with SSAB Safety and Security Policy and related 

regulations and statutes as directed.  

· Facilitate safety projects as directed.
