Spring 2022 Special Events Intern

TITLE:   Special Events/Marketing Intern
 POSITION SUMMARY:     To serve as an assistant to the Special Events Managers to help build community awareness of Junior Achievement in Eastern Iowa. This position is non-paid.
TERM:   All
RESPONSIBLE TO:  Logistics Manager
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:   Assist with special event projects: Business Hall of Fame (Summer/Fall), Stock Market Challenge (Winter), Taste of Achievement (Winter/Spring)
                        *Develop/design new local recruitment brochures
                        *Work with media partners for event publicity
                        *Prepare mailing lists for event pieces
                        *Other projects depending on intern’s desired outcome
 
QUALIFICATIONS:         
*Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Publisher or other design applications is a plus)
*The ability to write clearly and accurately using proper grammar
*Must have basic knowledge of the following:
  • Professionalism (demeanor and attire)

ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW: Junior Achievement is a non-profit organization that facilitates the placement of business volunteers in K-12 classrooms to teach students economic literacy. JA serves over 47,000 students in Eastern Iowa each year with the help of volunteers. Special events are the main way JA builds awareness and generates revenue.
