Newton County Schools (GA)- Speech Language Pathologist/ Clinical Fellow

Applied Pediatrics specializes in education-based therapy services for Special Education and ESE departments in school systems throughout the country. Applied Pediatrics is currently seeking bright and talented Speech-Language Pathologists for full-time opportunities to provide therapy services to students located in Newton County (Georgia)

Atlanta Pediatric Therapy (APT), Applied Pediatrics parent company, is one of the largest pediatric therapy, for profit companies in the metro Atlanta area. We are looking for quality oriented and compassionate SLPs to work in schools, with the opportunity to work in a multi-setting, pediatric environment: Outpatient Clinic, Teletherapy, and Early Intervention/Home Therapy.


Assignment Details: 

  • Work in a K-12 school setting with different age groups.
  • Providing high quality direct speech-language therapy services to students according to students’ IEPs, completing treatment notes and progress reports in a timely manner and according to school policy. 
  • Conducting assessments, analyzing results, and writing reports to determine strengths and concerns in areas of speech, voice, fluency, pragmatics, language, and oral motor skills.
  • Developing treatment plans (IEPs) that are strength-based as well as child and family centered for overall educational improvement, ensuring evaluations, treatment plans and service delivery are aligned with school, state, and federal guidelines
  • Assisting and guiding teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified speech and language delays/disorders
  • Consulting with teaching teams to develop and implement curriculum modifications and appropriate classroom strategies such as visual supports, oral motor exercises, language strips, topics of conversation, and data collection. 
Qualifications:
  • Have a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited school of speech language pathology
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills and an ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team. 
  • Be committed to meeting the needs of a diverse student population. 
  • Have a track record of being a team player and community minded.

  • Have excellent time management skills, flexibility, and ability to work independently and problem solve.

We have a multi-disciplinary, collaborative team of therapists and other health professionals at our outpatient pediatric clinic located in the Atlanta Metro Area. Our oldest division, Early Intervention/Home Therapy, has been providing therapy services in the natural environment since 2002. APT provides multi-disciplinary services, at the child’s natural environment, throughout the Atlanta Metro area. Therapists have the flexibility to set their schedule working in this setting.
