Physical Therapist- Pediatric Clinic (ATL, GA)

Atlanta Pediatric Therapy (APT), is one of the largest pediatric therapy, for profit companies in the metro Atlanta area. APT is looking for quality oriented and compassionate Physical Therapists to work in a multi-setting, pediatric environment: Outpatient Clinic, Teletherapy, and Early Intervention/Home Therapy.

APT’s opportunities are unique because we have four different settings to offer our therapists located in the greater Atlanta region, all under ONE banner. We have a multi-disciplinary, collaborative team of therapists and other health professionals at our outpatient pediatric clinic located in the Atlanta Metro Area. Our oldest division, Early Intervention/Home Therapy, has been providing therapy services in the natural environment since 2002. APT provides multi-disciplinary services, at the child’s natural environment, throughout the Atlanta Metro area. Therapists have the flexibility to set their schedule working in this setting.

Assignment Details: 
  • Ability to work in clinic 30 hours per week 
  • Interviewing children and family members and using physical examinations to diagnose the source of children's movement difficulties.
  • Creating unique, individualized treatment plans that outline the treatment goals and methods to be used.
  • Helping children to learn to move their bodies correctly, make their movements less painful, increase the functions of injured body parts, and heal from injuries.
  • Assessing patients and monitoring their progress.
  • Using techniques like functional training and exercise, medication, diet changes, and specialized equipment that is designed to treat and alleviate pain.
  • Coordinating a child's care with other healthcare professionals.
  • Providing expert consultations to schools and daycares.
  • Teaching children and their families about safety and home exercises
Qualifications:

  • A Doctorate of Physical Therapy, specializing in pediatric physical therapy.
  • Experience in a supervised internship may be advantageous.
  • A state license to practice pediatric physical therapy.
  • Manual dexterity and physical endurance to lift patients and heavy equipment.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills and an ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team. 
  • Be committed to meeting the needs of a diverse population. 
  • Have a track record of being a team player and community minded. 
  • Be committed to their own learning. 
  • Have excellent time management skills, flexibility, and ability to work independently and problem solve. 
  • Have a passion for underserved children 
  • Adhere to a high level of professional and ethical standards
