Bank Auditor

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Bank Auditor performs internal audits of departments and affiliates as assigned to verify adherence to bank policy and procedures and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. 
  • Determine the method of examination and audit through coordination with the General Auditor or Audit Manager.
  • Ensure that operations proceed as normally as possible during the audit.
  • Maintain onsite control over asset and liability records, cash, collateral, safekeeping items, bonds, traveler’s checks, etc., until audit is complete.
  • Prepare detailed reports of audit findings, presenting any irregularities or exceptions to appropriate audit personnel prior to submission to top management and the Audit Committee.
  • Assist external auditors and examiners as needed.
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • 4 year college degree or related work experience
  • Previous banking experience preferred
  • Accuracy and attention to detail required
  • Understanding of credits and debits
  • Strong reconciliation skills
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems and programs with working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously, meet deadlines, and show flexibility to change direction when needed
  • Team-oriented and the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization
  • Service-oriented, polite, and respectful
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills 
  
HOURS:
Regular business hours, Monday through Friday.
