Planner - Materials Buyer

Hamilton Storage is looking for a Materials Purchaser / Planner.

Responsibilities include:

Provide procurement support to production and engineering on all materials to meet scheduling demands, as well as internal customer requirements.

Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to obtain the best return at the most cost effective prices possible while retaining quality specifications.

Execute purchase orders, blanket orders, and mid to long term contracts for production and engineering.

Evaluate vendor quotes and services to determine the most desirable suppliers.

Analyze changes or new issues in materials and suppliers to reduce cost, lead times and improve quality.

Identify and qualify suppliers to build and maintain a strong supply chain.

Work closely with engineering to effectively source proper material for application, cost, and lead-time.

Work closely with quality and inventory control to eliminate supplier issues and non-conforming products.

Responsible for managing supplier corrective action and supplier follow through.

Monitor the status of purchase orders and supplier delivery commitments.

Responsible for coordinating the flow of material and work according to production demands.

Execute work orders, repair bills, and rework orders.

Monitor inventory levels, production cost and errors, and product quality and yield.

Meet production deadlines and shipping schedules.

Establish routings and BOM's.


Experience and Education Required:

Associates Degree or equivalent Experience is required.

5 plus years of experience procuring materials for Capital/process equipment, automation, and/or motion control systems.

International contract negotiations and purchasing experience a must.

Certification in Purchasing Manager (CPM), Professional in Supply Management (CPP), Professional Purchasing Manager (CPPM), or Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) is desirable.

Must have the ability to manage and meet schedule commitments, and possess good communication skills.

Attention to details, strong documentation and record keeping skills.

Must be capable of working with little or no supervision.

Familiarity with D365 ERP is a plus.
