Commercial Banking Analyst Roles - New Graduate (January / June 2022 Start)

Republic Bank of Chicago's Commercial Credit Analyst role creates an opportunity for new college graduates to jump start their career within Commercial Banking. By offering a hybrid approach of mostly hands-on, one on one individualized training, and also utilizing external video and webinar trainings from accredited banking institutions, analysts will build a foundation of knowledge to excel in one of many available career paths: Commercial Lender, Credit Manager, or even roles within other specialty business lines.

The Commercial Credit Analyst is responsible for the underwriting and evaluation of commercial real estate and commercial & industrial loan requests. This individual will collaborate with the Commercial Lender or Team Leader on due diligence of credit requests, specifically for middle market clients. 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Responsible for the preparation of quality, detailed financial analysis including cash flow models and collateral evaluations in order to identify potential credit risks.
  • Capable of evaluating complex financial statements to spread and analyze in order to prepare a credit review.
  • Make recommendations in accordance with sound banking practices in order to minimize risk exposure.
  • Ensure commercial loan requests adhere to bank policies and procedures.
  • Effectively communicate and partner with the Commercial Lender or Team Leader to assist with monitoring of the loan portfolio.
  • May participate in on-site client meetings with the Commercial Lender or Team Leader.
  • Assist with outgoing communication of the credit/ loan review function.
  • Review and monitor construction and working capital draws.
  • Maintain month-end Board of Director reports.
  • Completion of special projects as required by senior management and other additional responsibilities as requested.

Required Experience
  • Completed Bachelor’s degree in Business, preferably Accounting or Finance (or expected by June 2022)
  • Previous experience within a financial institution is a plus
